Veteran's Room

Somerset residents have answered the call to defend the country in the various wars and actions in which the country has been involved. We have artifacts and documents dating back the to Revolutionary War. Come and explore the stories of some of Somerset’s servicemen and women.

Pottery Room

Somerset was well known for pottery production. We have two cabinets representing some of the pottery produced in town, a list of Somerset potters, an old price list among other items.. The room contains the last potter’s wheel in use in Somerset which is a can’t miss item..

General Store

Step back in time into the General Store and reminisce about items and packaging from by-gone days. The room features old advertising, photos of some of Somerset’s General Stores that have vanished, and other items of interest

Hathaway Room

Step back into the 1930’s in this room, which represents a kitchen and living room from that era. Most of the items are from the Hathaway's and include photos of the three Hathaway sisters, tintypes of Hathaway's and relatives in a frame made with pine cones, acorns and other natural items. The room also contains a portrait of Bethia Winslow who is an ancesetor ot the Hathaway family.

Tool Room

This room contains the tools used to create everything from ships and houses to furniture. Aside from the tools for working wood there are blacksmith tools, ice cutting tools, farm tools and a section recognizing Hob Knob Farms.

School Room

This Room is currently under Renovation

As many of you know, the Museum is located in the former Village School. We are preserving one room as a school room. This room contains desks from different eras, memorabilia, and explore the history of education in town
